Are you a nonprofit organization?

Yes.  Bonfils Blood Center and Bonfils Blood Center Foundation are registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.

Since you take voluntary blood donations, why do you need financial contributions?

It takes more than blood to save a life. There are significant costs involved with collecting, testing, processing and distributing blood donations from the community. Financial contributions play a critical role in our ability to purchase equipment, maintain our facilities and provide programs, education and services to the community.

How will my contributions be used to support Bonfils Blood Center?

Your financial contribution is a vital component of maintaining a safe and adequate blood supply. Learn about our current funding priorities.

What sort of documentation is provided to me after I make my gift?

After we receive your gift we provide you with a thank you letter receipt acknowledging your generosity and compassion, satisfying the IRS requirement to substantiate cash gifts to a charity via a canceled check, bank record or receipt.

What is an Enterprise Zone project and what are the tax benefits?

Taxpayers making cash contributions to organizations identified with the words Enterprise Zone Tax Credit qualify for a 25 percent tax credit up to $100,000 per year or a 12.5 percent credit for in-kind contributions up to $50,000 per year. The purpose of the Enterprise Zone contribution tax credit is to encourage taxpayers to assist local Enterprise Zone administrators working with governmental and nonprofit partners, to undertake activities implementing the economic development plan for the Enterprise Zone. To be eligible, a proposed project must be approved by the local enterprise zone administrator and by the Colorado Economic Development Commission.
