Community Partners Appreciation Events

Bonfils rang in 2012 honoring nearly 700 blood donors who reached 10 gallons or more in 2011, as well as financial contributors, community partners, marrow donors, Bonfils ambassadors, gold level blood-drive host organizations and volunteers.  Five awards were given at the reception to members of the Bonfils community who went above and beyond to support the blood center’s mission to save and enhance lives in 2011.

Every June, Bonfils honors our southern Colorado partners and community members that contribute to our success. More than 500 of Bonfils' five-gallon and above blood donors and supporters were honored for their lifesaving work.

Drive for Life

October 4, 2011 marked the 14th year of Drive for Life, which is presented annually by Bonfils Blood Center and the Denver Broncos and is generously sponsored by 9News, FM Sportsradio 104.3 The FAN and The Denver Post. Nearly 1,500 fans rolled up their sleeves to give blood and save lives at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

High Gallon Donor Celebrations

Five lifelong donors reached milestones in 2011 - four of whom achieved 60-gallons and one donor commemorated his 65-gallon donation. Steve Medina became the first donor in Bonfils history to reach the 50-gallon milestone by exclusively giving whole blood. Golden, Colo. resident Denny Dalpez,  Bruce Trautmann and Colorado native Larry Cloos also celebrated their 60-gallon milestones in high spirits.  Retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant and veteran blood donor Bill Burnham became Bonfils' fourth donor to reach the 65-gallon landmark.
