Drive for Life 17, Oct. 7, 2014
Thanks to the nearly 2,000 generous blood donors and supporters for attending the 17th annual Drive for Life community blood drive on Oct. 7 at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
The state’s largest single-day blood drive helped save more than 4,680 lives through the more than 1,620 units collected through pre-event and event day donations. The event also welcomed 337 first-time donors into the Bonfils family. Bonfils’ Colorado Marrow Donor Program registered 41 potential marrow donors to the Be The Match Registry® to help patients in need of marrow and stem cell transplants. Nearly 80 participants enjoyed the new behind-the-scenes stadium tours hosted by Sports Authority Field and Bonfils’ Foundation staff raising a total of $1,680 to benefit the lifesaving programs and services of Bonfils.
Donors are needed and appreciated all yearlong and are encouraged to continue saving lives by becoming a regular blood donor. Schedule your appointment online or call 303.363.2300 or 800.365.0006, opt. 2.
