Drive For Life XIV Oct. 4, 2011

Broncos fans championed the cause to save lives at the 14th annual Drive for Life community blood drive on Oct. 4, 2011. The state’s largest single-day blood drive collected 1,200 lifesaving units through pre-event and event day donations. Additionally, 20 generous individuals gave a double red cell donation and 350 potential new donors were blood typed at the event. The blood typed “donors on reserve” are eligible for an exclusive yearlong Broncos Country Donor Club membership provided they make a blood donation by Nov. 1. Bonfils’ Colorado Marrow Donor Program was also successful in registering 100 potential marrow donors to the Be The Match Registry®.
“The community has once again shown their generosity and made Drive for Life XIV a huge success. There were nearly 35 Denver Broncos players and more than 20 alumni players and cheerleaders on hand to meet the fans who came to support our mission of saving and enhancing lives,” said Jessica Maitland, vice president of marketing and community operations for Bonfils Blood Center.
