High School Challenge

It takes all types.

We are all different in some way, but we also have a lot in common. It takes different personalities, different perspectives and different people to keep high school fun and interesting. And it takes all types of people, including you, to make a difference in our community.

Are you ready to take the challenge?

As a young person, blood donation is one of the most significant ways you can volunteer.  With each blood donation you make, you have the power to save and enhance the lives of up to three people.  Now that is making a difference.  Colorado needs more than 4,000 units of blood each week to meet the needs of our community and patients in need.  If you are 17 years old with a parent’s permission or 18 years or older, you are eligible to donate blood.  Click here to find out more about your eligibility and be sure to eat a full meal and drink lots of water prior to making your blood donation.

Bonfils Blood Center Needs YOUR Help.
Participating in the Bonfils Blood Center High School Student Body Challenge will show your school's pride, as well as how much you and your friends care about our community. Any Colorado high school can participate by organizing a blood drive and then competing for the highest percentage of blood donors from their eligible student body. It's a great project that develops leadership, friendship and school spirit. Your student body can work together to save lives in your community.  Find out if your school was a winner for the 2005-2006 school year.

There are great rewards for participating schools, including great prizes like a chance to win a video ipod or a trip to the MTV studios in New York. For more information about how your high school can take the challenge this year, please call 303.739.4001 or 800.365.0006 opt. 6. Remember, when it comes to donating blood, it takes all types to make a difference.
