DENVER (February 14, 2005) - The Donor Awareness Council is currently selling Donate Life bracelets in order to help raise funds and awareness about the importance of organ and tissue donation. Bonfils Blood Center is a proud member of the Donor Awareness Council, a local coalition that strives to increase organ and tissue donation through education and awareness. In addition to signing up for the organ and tissue registry, there are other ways for the community to support this effort. Financial contributions to the Donor Awareness Council make possible vital donor awareness education and outreach programs which provide hope for the thousands of Coloradoans who await organ or tissue transplants. For more information about Donate Life bracelets or the Donor Awareness Council, please visit www.donor-awareness.org or contact Marlene Murphy, Executive Director, at 303.388.8605 or mmurphy@donor-awareness.org.

Bonfils Blood Center supplies blood to more than 115 healthcare facilities and needs to collect 4,350 blood donations weekly to meet the needs of the community and to be prepared for any unexpected events. For information about scheduling a blood donation, please visit www.bonfils.org or call (303) 363-2300.
