DENVER (September 27, 2005) - Laboratories at Bonfils (LABS), a leading clinical reference laboratory in the organ and tissue transplant industry and a subsidiary of Bonfils Blood Center, recently announced their successful achievement of certification to the internationally recognized ISO 9001 quality system. ISO 9001:2000 is a standard for good business practices – a standard which requires certain elements to be in place within a company with a focus on customer satisfaction, processes and continuous improvement.

“The ISO 9001:2000 certification places LABS in an elite, world-class category,” said Kevin Barfield, COO of Laboratories at Bonfils. “With only a handful of reference laboratories having achieved this milestone, the transplant community should feel proud and confident in our laboratory providing for their needs.”

ISO 9001 is a comprehensive quality system, international in nature, broad in scope and applicable to any industry provided goods and services. To date, more than 150 countries have adopted the ISO 9001 system.
