A Message from Bonfils Blood Center Board of Trustees
The Bonfils Blood Center board of trustees is pleased to announce that Thomas C. Puckett, Bonfils’ former chief operating officer, accepted the position of interim chief executive officer of the blood center. The board selected Puckett not only for his first-hand knowledge of Bonfils’ operations but for his strong associations within our community and the blood banking industry. His strength in fostering relationships will complement Bonfils’ primary goal of maximizing community loyalty.
Last month we announced that Michael Bauer, M.D., accepted the interim position of medical director for the organization. Dr. Bauer has served as associate medical director for Bonfils Blood Center and Laboratories at Bonfils since 2002 and brings 15 years of outstanding technical expertise to the position. His leadership, insight, skills and professional strengths will serve the blood center and our community well.
Puckett will work side-by-side with Dr. Bauer beginning Monday, March 27. Permanent successors will be named within the next 12 months, however until that time the board affirms and supports Puckett’s and Dr. Bauer’s authority to act in these appointed leadership and regulatory roles.
The board will continue to work in close partnership with Puckett, Dr. Bauer and senior management to ensure a smooth transition of leadership, progress to goals and steadfast commitment to the community do not waiver.
We hope you’ll join us in congratulating Tom Puckett and Dr. Bauer. Their leadership in partnership with the board and senior management will further Bonfils Blood Center’s mission, vision and goals for years to come.
