Red Rocks Community College Recognized for 30-Year Partnership with Bonfils Blood Center

DENVER (March 23, 2006) - Today, Bonfils Blood Center honored Red Rocks Community College with a blood drive achievement award in recognition of their 30-year commitment to the community blood supply as a blood drive host. A “30 Years of Saving Lives” award and certificate were presented to Blood Drive Liaison Beth Foster and Carolyn Mattern, director of student life for the college in appreciation of the school’s long-standing dedication to saving and enhancing lives.
Red Rocks Community College generously hosts an average of two blood drive per year with each drive collecting up to 96 units of blood for a total of nearly 5,800 units of blood collected over a 30-year period.
Bonfils Blood Center supplies blood to more than 115 healthcare facilities and needs to collect 4,350 blood donations weekly to meet the needs of the community and to be prepared for any unexpected events.
