DENVER (Feb. 12, 2007) –This Valentine’s Day, also known as National Donor Day, give a gift that goes straight to the heart and you could go straight to Mexico. In an effort to continue to rebound from a drastic seasonal decline in blood donations due to adverse weather conditions and colds and flu, Bonfils is offering a sweetheart of a prize to one lucky blood donor. Give blood now through Feb. 28 and you’ll be entered to win an all-inclusive trip for two to Secrets Capri Resort in the incredible Riviera Maya, Mexico this April courtesy of CBS4.
“Thousands of blood donors are needed each week to support patients in our community,” asserts Jessica Maitland, vice president of marketing and community operations. “The frequent snowfall this winter has kept some blood donors away, but the need for donations is ever present. Our community blood supply is still struggling to return to normal following last December’s blizzards.”
Donating blood takes less than an hour and is one of the easiest ways to give back to the community. Visit www.bonfils.org to schedule an appointment online or to find a community donor center or blood drive near you or call our appointment center at 303.363.2300 and they’ll help you find a location that is most convenient for you.
For a complete list of contest rules and eligibility requirements, please visit our Web site at www.bonfils.org.
Bonfils Blood Center supplies blood to more than 200 healthcare facilities and needs to collect 4,350 blood donations weekly to meet the needs of the community and to be prepared for any unexpected events.
