Saving Lives A Cappella Style

Local Barbershop Harmony Society chapters host Singing for Life blood drives

 

DENVER (April 21, 2008) – Men of all ages, from all walks of life, who love to sing, will harmonize to save lives this spring through a nationwide blood drive campaign, Singing for Life. On Saturday, May 10, more than 150 Barbershop Harmony Society chapters, including four from Colorado’s Front Range, will host blood drives and entertain blood donors in an effort to raise awareness of the need for blood in advance of a time when blood donations tend to decline.

 

Colorado chapter members will regale donors with barbershop harmony and other musical styles at the following locations and times:

 

Denver West Community Donor Center

7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

13952 Denver West Pkwy.

Performances by UltraSoniX, Joyful Noise, Denver MountainAires, Grace Notes and Harmony Emporium are scheduled between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

 

Boulder Community Donor Center
8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Performances by Surrounded by Reality, a barbershop quartet from The Boulder Timberliners Barbershop Chorus are scheduled between 1 and 3 p.m.

Performances by Long’s Peak Chorus are scheduled inside Wal-Mart between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Performances by 4 the Lord, The Back Row, Cupid’s 4, Harmony in Motion, In the Stairwell, Metrognomes, Peak Experience and Velcro are scheduled between 1 and 5:30 p.m..

About the Barbershop Harmony Society:
